Welcome.
Every organization has a story. Every project has a purpose. I help uncover both, transforming research, ideas, and experience into clear, compelling communication that connects with audiences
My work draws on a background in research, creative writing, theater, nonprofit communications, and digital storytelling. Whether developing website content, shaping a campaign, or creative narrative experiences, I help people communicate in ways that engage, inform, and inspire.

About
Jennifer Emerson is a writer and playwright whose work explores women’s lives, domestic spaces, and the social frameworks that shaped private experience. Drawing from archival research and lived environments, her projects move between fiction, scripted performance, and public-facing programming.
Her work is particularly concerned with the ways authority, morality, and gender have shaped narrative, both historically and in the present. Whether developing original fiction or immersive dramatic work, she approaches storytelling as both craft and inquiry.
Emerson has spent 25 years working within historic spaces, guiding audiences through the material realities of earlier lives. That experience informs her creative work, grounding it in detail, texture, and lived context.
She is currently developing a First-Person performance of Jennie Emmerton to benefit the Woman's Friend Society of Salem, and continuing work on her book, Puritans & Sex, and her second historical fiction novel, Devil's Jade.
